My Review

She doesn’t want wild and raunchy, just a little spice…

He wants commitment and long-term, not a quick roll…

Two best friends who both want each other, but for very different reasons.

The walls are thin in the Apple Trail Apartments. Ever since she moved in after her divorce, Stephanie has listened to her best friend next door getting busy. By the bed knocking on the wall and the gasping women, Stephanie wants to be one of those women on the other side. She just has to get the courage up to ask.

The only woman Parker Madison ever wanted long-term was the very-married Stephanie. He’s tried finding a substitute, but there just isn’t another woman like her. Now that she’s available, he just has to keep his hands to himself for a respectable length of time after her divorce. He’s planning to make a move after eight months. Stephanie takes him by surprise after three. Does he fulfill her request and risk becoming that best friend rebound guy or wait it out to better his chances for happily ever after?

My Review

Six years apart and my, my, things have changed. Specifically, his wider shoulders and tighter-fitting jeans. Shellie Chambers is supposed to be on a quick, relaxing break, visiting her lifelong best friend, Riley Hamilton. Seeing his dimpled smile all over again has her thinking their friends-only relationship needs to add a lovers option in this small town.

Flings, one night stands, and lovers are a thing of Riley’s past. He’d chased women, took up drinking—and possibly more he couldn’t remember—until smacking rock-bottom. He managed to climb out of that hellhole and had no desire to go back. He has responsibilities now and a sensible head on his shoulders. Then Shellie turns up. She’s saying and doing all the right things while looking just right, too. She leaves him torn: should he have her legs around his waist during her visit, or do right by himself and keep her at arm’s length?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAbout:

Keri Ford was raised in South Arkansas on a farm surrounded by family, horses, cows, donkeys, ostriches, emus, chickens, ducks, Canadian Geese, and enough dogs one would think they were a pound…and then she bought a Cosmopolitan when she was twenty-two. All it took was one excerpt of a sexy romantic suspense and her life would never be the same. Well, parts of it. She still lives on that farm.

  1. I <3 Keri!! 🙂 I like to see the men on the covers. Not necessarily their faces either! I like to picture in my mind what the people look like and having them already there sometimes messes it up. Therefore, when you have just a hot bod on the cover..there is something nice to look at without ruining my image of the people in the story LOL Make sense?

    1. Woman chasing my heart, Heather! who needs faces? All the REALLY good spots are below the neck! and I so get what you mean. I’m not a huge fan of faces (especially when I’m looking for my covers because it’s hard to find that fit), but I really struggle when the characters are looking right at me!

      thanks for stopping by!

    1. I admit, when it’s an author I adore, I don’t look at the cover. but I browse by covers. if I’m in a store or shopping online it’s that cover that encourages me to lift or click on the book.

  2. I tend to judge a book by its cover. First thing I’m drawn to is the cover! I like to see both -hero and heroine – on the cover.

    1. there’s really something special about seeing the hero and heroine together on a cover. I tend to shy away from including both because I struggle to find that perfect chemistry that I see in the character. Some romances are playful, others serious and when a cover with a couple nails it? swoon.

  3. I like either the couple or the hero– not going to lie about that. I think the couple together is sexiest, but hey I’ll take hunky hero picture any day. BAHAHAHAHA Biceps and abs. Sigh. Keri, I just picked up Through the Wall, but I had to finish another story before I could read it. I can’t wait!

  4. A cover really does influence my purchasing of a book. A hot guy will usually catch my eye. I also like to see a couple, but if I had to pick one, I’d pick good looking guy on the cover.

Thanks so much for the giveaway!!!

    1. it’s such a big influence for me. It’s been interesting taking a look at covers with a marketing eye over just what looks good to me. or maybe I should say comparing with a marketing eye.

  5. I like to see both on the covers. If I can’t have both, then the hero, especially shirtless or nearly shirtless.
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  6. I like to see either on the cover honestly. Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

  7. What I prefer is a cover that incorporates the main character(s) really well. It’s not just about whether there is a nice looking man or woman on the cover so much as that they represent the characters well. So for example, if the heroine is the focus of the story and she is a redhead, I want to see a redhead on the cover, not a blond or a brunette. And if the hero is described as having a lot of tattoos, I want a hunk on the cover with more than simply one tattoo. LOL

    1. I LOVE when that happens! but oh man. I’m dreading looking for cover art on 3 of my novellas I’m releasing later this year. the guys have tattoos and it’s SO HARD to find a good tattoo’d guy that fits the tone of the story. I’ll be browsing art for a while on that one!

  8. I have to say I’m a complete cover whore. I love a hot hero on the cover. But I do have to say if its a historical I love the beautiful dresses.

  9. It is always nice to see the hero on the cover but I don’t mind other covers as long as the what is on the cover matches the book. It is a bit of a pet peeve of mine when the covers don’t match the book. Don’t put very specific tats on the hero on the cover if he doesn’t have them or a model that looks completely different, etc,
