His Secrets Can Destroy Her

From the moment Josie laid eyes on sexy, mysterious Shane Dean, she was in love. Their desire ignited a passionate affair, and within weeks, Shane had slipped a ring on her finger. It seemed her every fantasy was coming true . . . until her new husband disappeared without a trace. Now, two years and one broken heart later, Josie is shocked by the hospital calls: Shane has been found . . . at a crime scene with no memory of how he got there.

Her Love Can Save Him

Shane can’t remember the blue-eyed angel at his bedside—or who he even is—but he knows something isn’t right. His hearing is razor sharp, his physical strength incredible, and the urge to protect Josie overwhelming. For powerful enemies are hunting him, and Josie is the key to discovering why. As Shane struggles to unravel his past, dangerous new truths come to light. Can he protect the only woman he’s ever loved? And can Josie trust a man she thought she knew—one who carries such a deadly secret?

Dear Rebecca Zanetti,

Why do you write such awesome books that make me want to hide in your bushes outside your house hoping for a glimpse at your computer as you write the next one? How can you create such vivid characters that set my teeth on edge and make me laugh at the same time? Every time I pick up one of your books I know I’m in for an action packed roller coaster of awesomeness and it’s just not fair. Not fair I have to wait for the next one and nothing else compares for awhile. Not fair that I can’t pick up my next book right away because I know I’m still living in yours. You never fail me and just know I’m eagerly awaiting the next one…or your other series…or your other other series.

Me, the crazy fan.

Lord I loved this book. From the first page to the last this one left me trying to catch my breath after each action packed page. Josie has moved on from her tumultuous past. Her husband disappeared and she moved on. So when she gets a call he’s in the hospital she’s both shocked and mad. How dare he leave her just like everyone else in her life. Learning he’s suffering from amnesia is just icing on the cake of her shitty day.

Shane can’t remember anything about his life and is shocked, and a little thrilled to find out he’s married to the little female who appears in his hospital room. Finding out how much he hurt her doesn’t really surprise him even though he has no idea why he did what he did or why he turned up in her town a long way away from where he left her.

When attempts on Josie’s life start happening Shane declares his intent on keeping her out of harms way but Josie doesn’t necessarily trust the man who walked out on her. Should she stay with this man who is displaying dangerous edges or should she play it safe and continue to move on without him?

Alpha men, this reviewer loves them. The more alpha the better. No one writes better alpha heroes then Zanetti. I liked how this one had the twist of amnesia which made it feel like the reader was unraveling the story just like the characters were. Shane’s past is highly shrouded in mystery and up till near the end the full extent of his past isn’t revealed. The interweaving of the military aspect and the emotional aspect is extremely well done and lovers of both should enjoy this one. The heat level is just like I’d come to expect from a Zanetti novel, high. Not only the actual sex scenes but the sexual tension is strung tightly throughout the entire book.

I thought Josie was a realistic heroine. Obviously hurt by Shane she has a hard time letting him back in. It takes her a while to trust this man who is basically a stranger to her. Her need for a family eventually outweighs her trust issues and she let him, as well as the brothers that show up, in. She’s been alone for so long that the only thing she truly longs for is a family who won’t leave. Given that opportunity with these brothers she latches on and refuses to let go. Her emotional journey is truthful, sometimes hurtful and real. When looking danger in the eye she reacts with precision if not strength…she may not be trained but she’s certainly not as soft as Shane had treated her before and during.

Shane’s brothers will all get their own book, including I’m sure the brother feared dead. That was slightly predictable and I wonder what type of twists and turns will turn up in respect to that story arc. No doubt his story will probably be last LOL maximizing my lack of patience.

Zanetti will always be a fixture on this readers bookshelf!
