In this Bolton Brothers book, first comes the baby and maybe then comes marriage?
He’d never expected to see Stella Caine again. After one wild night, she’d walked away right after revealing that her father was the one man who could threaten the biggest business deal of Bobby Bolton’s career. So Bobby left her alone.
Now Stella is pregnant and staying in his condo. This is a complication that can be solved only one way: marriage. Bobby wants to do the right thing. Hell, he wants her–he has never stopped wanting her. Surely he can convince her to say yes, even without those three little words.
Expecting A Bolton Baby is the last book in the Bolton Bothers trilogy, a series which I have enjoyed from the beginning. Sarah M. Anderson has no problems ensnaring me with her words and drawing me into her stories with ease.
Since book one I’ve wondered what motivated Bobby Bolton. While his two brothers were more rough and tumble, Bobby was more polished, refined. He could fit into both worlds but his main job was managing the tv show he had built around the family bike building business. While in New York he had a chance encounter with a beautiful woman who turned out to be the daughter of a very powerful business man that Bobby did not want to upset. The owner of the channel his tv show ran on. Also the financial backer of all of Bobby’s dreams of owning a posh resort in his hometown. When Stella shows up and announces her pregnancy a couple of month later, he’s shocked and nervous what this means for his carefully constructed future.
Stella was a hard character to like in the beginning. She had an icy exterior that really put me off her. She came off as stuck up and entitled until her past was revealed. She was justifiably nervous approaching Bobby but I have to give her credit for going to him at all.
Though Bobby reacts to the news of the pregnancy with grace he becomes a complete tool in the way he makes Stella feel. Men can be so obtuse, but to his credit Stella doesn’t do such a hot job conveying what she truly wants either. This is definitely one of those books where I kept saying and yelling at the characters to get their heads out of their asses and COMMUNICATE.
I did feel this one had much more internalization and less vocalization than the past two books. Readers were constantly in the characters heads. Less convo slowed down the story a bit for me and I found I didn’t react as strongly to Bobby and Stella as I did the past two couples. I mean, I totally ugly cried in the last book. Regardless, this is a fast read that I got done in one sitting. It’s easy, light and would be perfect to read in between darker books when you’re looking to simply relax.
Sarah M Anderson grows with every book I read of hers. Enchanting and fun, I look forward to what she gives readers in the future!
I give Expecting A Bolton Baby by Sarah M Anderson 3 stars!
