Ever since her mother died while serving time for a murder she didn’t commit, Bellhas been focused on one thing: revenge. She knows her mother was set up by the head of the powerful Gable family, international bankers who will crush anyone for profit, or amusement. Now she’s determined to take the Gables down—from the inside.

Seducing her way into the life—and bed—of the family’s rebellious youngest son, Lander, she figures it should be easy to uncover the secrets she needs to destroy the Gables. But Lander turns out to be much more complicated than Bell ever could have imagined. He’s enticing, intelligent, mysterious—and their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Lander is still the target, but when he touches her, he starts seeming much less like an enemy…

Which is why her anger is so necessary: memories of her mother must help fuel her quest for justice to the very end.

To be honest I was kinda pissed when I finished this book and I thought giving myself a few days before I wrote this would help. It did not. I’m still just as ticked writing this as I was when I finished it. I feel tricked. Dupped. I have no idea what is happening at the end of this book and there is zero information anywhere at the moment on whether this story is continuing or if the author is seriously ending with absolutely NOTHING resolved. All signs pointed to this being a 3-part full length book with a conclusion. Not so. It is a total cliffhanger with no end in sight.

Just like the previous two installments, part three was a quick read filled with intrigue, back stabbing and a twisty story line that keeps a reader guessing. As it was creeping towards the ending I kept thinking, “ok…something has to happen quickly”. Then it was “um, how can she finish this when I’m at 95%”. And finally it was, “WTF-ing-hell just happened…omg I’m going to SCREAM”

The amount of trouble Bell goes through to set up both Travis and his wife was epic. I mean she seriously has it out for the family who she believes set her mother up to take the fall for the murder of their business associate, whom she happened to be having an affair with. Yet after all the staging, Bell develops a conscious and attempts to help the wife out. Along the way she also develops feelings for Lander and realizes that while he did play a small role he was being manipulated by his family as well. So the hardened person she was trying to be wasn’t holding up under the pressure. Add in some mob contacts, skeevy hit man types and a past that pieces keep changing to and you’ve got a story line that can be a bit confusing at times.

All I know is that if this was seriously the ending then I’ll be back to change my rating because yeah…I’m ticked.

I give Deceptive Innocence part three by Krya Davis 3 stars…..begrudgingly.

UPDATE 3-11-14: As of today I have noticed on the authors blog that there WILL be another book…supposedly one full length book . I’m glad there will *HOPEFULLY* be closure but it seriously ticks me off to have not known that going into these. I know there isn’t covers or blurbs or whatever available for the new book but goodness gracious, at least make it known that there is more coming so readers can know up front about possible cliffhangers. Put it up on Goodreads or something…anything. There is no date given for the next book, but my guess is 2015.
