Former Army Ranger Christian Cage Owens joined the Vipers Motorcycle Club for its sense of brotherhood. In return, he pledged to live outside the law, protecting club members and their families, as well as keeping other MCs out of Skulls Creek. But when Cage discovers that a rival MC—one Cage has an all too familiar past with—plans to push meth into his town, he calls an old Army buddy turned private investigator who’s helped the Vipers in the past. By doing so, Cage endangers both his friend and Calla, a woman who works in the PI’s office. Now he’s made it his mission to track Calla down and do whatever it takes to protect her.

Thanks to the phone call with Cage, Calla knows she’s formed a deep connection to a dangerous man. She quickly discovers that although he may live by a different set of rules, Cage is an honorable man who wants to be more than her protector—if only she can accept his dangerous lifestyle. But Calla comes to Skulls Creek with her own set of secrets…secrets that threaten to tear her and Cage—and the Vipers MC—apart. As they put their newfound love to the ultimate test, Cage will risk everything he cares about to save her……

Vipers Run is the start of a new MC series that features hot alpha men and kickass women. I like the premise of this book, the heroine that needs protection because of the actions of the hero. The world is exciting and I look forward to reading more about the Vipers.

Former army ranger Christian Cage Owens joined the club when he left the only place he knew for sanctuary with Preacher and the Vipers. He was born and raised in a rival club called the Heathens, but when his mother started using drugs and his father did not care what happened to her, he fled. Preacher took him in at the young age of ten even though many were unwelcoming at first. At age eighteen he joined the army and when he was discharged he came back to the only family he claimed.

Calla’s life had been adrift for the last year because of her swindling brother, Ned, she started working for a man named Bernie, a private investigator, soon things started to change and when she answered Bernie’s phone one night, a dying man was on the line, this placed her in danger and changed her life forever. But in her wildest dreams she did not expect it to find herself mourning the life of a man she never met and staying in a safe house with a man named Tenn who owns a gay porn business and has mysterious friends.

When I read the blurb and the premise of the series I was hooked, I want to know about each of the club members and the secrets that surround this motorcycle club. I am also intrigued about the author’s other persona and the series she is writing featuring a m/m motorcycle club, Havoc that is situated in the same world as the Vipers, they know and respect each other but keep to themselves. However I must read Running Wild by S.E. Jakes when it comes out.

I really like Cage, he is straight forward and tells it like it is and he will do anything for you if you are part of his world, oh and he keeps his promises. He is very sexy and the scene where he is filmed while enjoying himself is way hot! I also like Cage and Calla together, they have instant chemistry and when they get connect the scenes sizzle. I do have some issues with Calla, I really thought I was going to love this woman but she makes some strange choices which made me rethink my feelings. She blindly drives for hours to Tenn’s place (a stranger at first) and when she gets there she promptly stays for weeks while mourning a man she has never met. When Cage finally comes back “for her?” they are immediately in love and she wants to stay with him forever, but after she is done being angry at him because no one told her he was still alive, but still…“in love”? She also just accepts everything that is being thrown at her, her world has just imploded yet she is happy to work at a bar or tattoo place for the club, it just seems too simple for me. There is also the issue with the two men from her past (brother and high school boyfriend) that are blackmailing her, Cage promises her, while he was dying, no less, that he will take care of the men that have hurt her, and he does – too easy to solve.

The secondary characters make this book, Tenn is so interesting and I am excited to read more about him, maybe in the Havoc series. I also really like the other members of the Vipers club, Preacher and Rooster are both interesting and I look forward to more.

The pace of the book is fast, an easy read as there is action and danger throughout which keeps you wanting to find out what happens. I have read other books by this author and have enjoyed them so I look forward to more. All in all, I really like the idea of this series and the one she is writing in tandem, I will definitely be picking up the next to see what happens, I just hope I connect with the main characters more.

I give Viper’s Run by Stephanie Tyler 3 stars!
