My Review

He might growl, but she’s not afraid to bite.

Hands full taking care of his clan, the last thing this Kodiak bear needs is a woman poking her cute little nose into his affairs. But when she refuses to back down—and shows the courage to stand up to him—he can’t resist the allure of a curvy city girl.

She’s mine. All mine.

And when a rival clan thinks to use her to force his paw, he’ll show them why you never piss off a Kodiak, or threaten what’s his.

Tammy is convinced men are all scum, even gorgeous ones like Reid Carver. She knows he’s hiding something. Something big. She just never expected a real freaking bear hid underneath all those muscles. But when the truth comes out and he tries to scare her off with a roar, she shows him not just bears have bite.

You’ve wrote books in several sub-genre’s, would you say you have a favorite?

I really like stories that are of a paranormal/sci fi genre. When I read, I want to escape the mundane. I want a world and heroes that are out of the ordinary because as a housewife and a mom, I get enough of contemporary life every day lol

I love that many of your heroines are often “normal sized” aka chubby. What is your reasoning behind making your characters more real instead of fantasy?

I’m a chubby girl, so to me, writing about heroines who have body issues, or are lush, comes naturally. I think it’s important that women of various shapes sizes, and even attitudes, realize that the right man(or woman) exists for all of us. One who will love us even if we shop in the big girl section, or want that second helping of fries.

Shifters in your world go outside the large cats and werewolves. In fact your newest hero is a moose in Outfoxed By Love. Can you tell us how you come up with such imaginative shifters?

I’m not sure why, where or how I come up with these crazy ideas. Sometimes it just seems to fit. Although, I’ll be honest, when Boris popped up in my first book Kodiak’s Claim, I never expected he’d end up the hero in the second, Outfoxed By Love. And for the third, while the polar bear isn’t too far out there, the fact he’s a seriously bad dude will make for an interesting premise.

Ok, back to Outfoxed…tell us a bit about the book and the series it’s a part of?

Kodiak’s Claim is the first in a series titled Kodiak Point that will follow a set of heroes who are not just bound together by their clan and town, but share a past in the military. The men are tough, but several are fighting inner demons, their experience overseas having left its mark. But PTSD and bad memories isn’t the only thing plaguing them. An outside force seems determined to ruin their little retreat and as each of these heroes finds love and acceptance, they must also fight against those who would take away their happiness.

In Outfoxed by Love, we have Boris, a man who struggles with PTSD. Because of his fear of losing someone he loves and hurting them because of his night terrors, he refuses to get involved in a relationship. But Jan won’t let him stand in the way of their happiness lol. She’s determined to break through the wall he’s built around himself and show him he can have love. Her methods are entertaining and when Boris does finally fall…sigh 😀

Before you chose a career in writing what was your favorite job?

LOL, I worked as web programmer for years, but I wouldn’t call it a favorite job. But the fact I worked from home was certainly useful when my kids were young.

You are a self pubbed author. What would you say are the advantages and disadvantages of both traditional and self pubbing?

I like that in self pubbing I really have control over all aspects of the experience, from quality to presentation, oh and price. But, Traditional publishing has paperbacks in stores. As successful as I’ve been with my ebooks, a tiny part of me would dearly love to walk into a book store and see a book with my name on a shelf. However, I’m not willing to compromise when it comes to my work, or sign away my rights, so that’s probably a dream that will never come to fruition.

What would you say has been the funniest encounter with a fan?

The first time someone fan girled me and I author girled her right back lol. To have someone so excited to meet me was freaking awesome.

What’s next for Eve Langlais?

Writing, writing and more writing!!! I keep myself on a tight schedule when it comes to getting books done. I’m also busy planning a conference that I’m hosting April 17 and 18th, 2015 in Ottawa, Ontario.

Don’t moose with his fox!

A bullheaded moose doesn’t stand a chance when a fox decides to make him her mate.

Boris left to defend his country still a boy. He came back a changed man. A damaged man.

But Jan still wants him.

A man of few words, Boris has a firm way of saying No, but this determined vixen knows he’s her mate. Despite some less than subtle overtures, Jan has not had much success in getting her bullheaded moose to notice her, but all that changes when her life is put in danger.

Suddenly the damaged soldier keeps finding excuses to come to her rescue, but as far as Jan is concerned, her mate is the one in need of saving.

It will take some subtle maneuvering to outfox her moose into admitting he loves her, but this wily vixen is more than ready for the challenge. And if that doesn’t work, momma’s offered to loan her the shot gun used for her own engagement.

Welcome to Kodiak Point, where the wildlife might wear clothes, but animal instinct rules the heart.

  1. I’ve always been partial to feline shifters. I think it’s because Lions are usually top of the heap so I really enjoy lion shifters the best. Love this interview with Eve!! 🙂

  2. I’m definitely partial to bear and cat shifters, so I can’t wait to start this new series. I also love how Eve uses unusual shifters in her books like Miranda, the saber tooth bunny in Bunny and the Bear.

  3. Howdy from an Evel Minion!
My favorite shifters are dragons, but I love any shifter that Eve writes!

  4. Great interview! Love cat shifters then the wolf shifters. But then I’m not picky cuz I love the paranormal, romance, & action all in one 🙂
