Tattoo artist Keelie Jessup can handle that someone else has claimed the man of her dreams. She’s just not pleased with her remaining options… Keelie doesn’t believe in the “perfect man.” But the men who are worth the trouble are usually taken—like her business partner Zach Barnes. After a string of bad luck and the lost chance with Zach, Keelie decides that maybe flying solo—and living with suppressed desires—is the key to happiness.
As a photographer, Zane Barnes has an eye for the human form, and his eyes can’t get enough of Keelie’s curves. Unfortunately, Keelie is like most women—always fawning over his little brother, Zach. Zane is about ready to give up, but then a few stolen moments at his brother’s wedding have him thinking maybe there’s a chance there after all. Now he just has to prove that the perfect man does exist…for her.
This is a charming romance full of emotion, people dealing with past trauma and the love of family. Both Keelie and Zane are wonderful characters and I thoroughly enjoyed their story.
Keelie Jessup is a tattoo artist who is struggling with her feelings about her business partner. Attending Zach’s wedding is a bit awkward but she knows everything and everyone are finally in the right place, Zach is marrying Abigale, his soul mate and true love. The feelings she thought she had for Zach are in the past and she is determined that their future friendship will grow into something special.
Zane is Zach’s older brother who has been in love with Keelie for three years. He is making the jump to fulfill his dream of becoming a full time photographer and moving to Tucson, the home of Zach and Keelie. His dream also includes Keelie, and he is determined to show her he is the one for her. I really like the characters in this series. The brothers are all very sexy and add something to each other’s story.
Keelie is an amazing woman, she is strong but hides behind some past issues and seems to be unable to move forward. She lives is a rundown area of town for no reason and can’t seem to decide what she wants to do next in life, it is not until she confronts her past that it jumpstarts her into her future. I do hate that she feels she has to tackle the issues on her own, she knows that Zane would do anything for her and leaving him hanging is downright mean.
Zane is adorable, he knows what he wants and I like how he bides his time to get that one thing, Keelie. He has loved her for several years and believes that now that Zach is married she will finally see what is in front of her, which is exactly what she does. The two together are amazing and the chemistry sizzles as they get to know each other, unfortunately the past comes back to haunt them, throwing them back in time as they realize the way they dealt with their conflicts years ago was not necessarily wrong, it was just all they knew at the time and they need to address their feelings now. I like how even though they grew up very differently they had similar experiences with bullying.
I absolutely love the bond these five brothers have, they grew up in a loving family and have a strong link to each other no matter how far away they find themselves, even Sebastian, the one they continuously mentioned who is full of himself, I am looking forward to his takedown. I did not read the first book, but will be adding it to my list, and I had no trouble enjoying this as a standalone, yes there is a back story but the author is great at catching the reader up to date.
I have enjoyed several of Ms. Walker’s books, she always keeps me intrigued with twists and turns, emotional upheavals and triumphs until the end. The next book is about Trey, one of the twins who is dealing with grief and sadness. This is a wonderful series and I recommend it to those that love an emotional romance.
I give Razed by Shiloh Walker 4 stars!
