HELL HATH NO FURY . . .
For five thousand years, Revenant believed he was alone in the world, a fallen angel beyond any redemption. Now he finds he has a twin brother who had all the light and love Revenant was denied. Caught in a tug of war between Heaven and Hell, he must weigh his thirst for revenge against his desire for a mysterious female named Blaspheme—a female whose very origins could deliver him into salvation . . . or destruction.
LIKE AN ANGEL SCORNED
Blaspheme has a deadly secret: she’s the forbidden offspring of an angel and a fallen angel. Hunted by both heavenly and satanic forces, she has survived only by laying low and trusting no one. When Revenant claims he can save them both, how can she possibly believe him? But the powerful angel is persistence incarnate and for Blaspheme, there’s no place she can hide in Heaven or Hell where he won’t find her .
I was so sad when I finished this book…not because it wasn’t good (it was awesome)…but because this has been one of my favorite series for so long and I hate to say goodbye. Whether this is truly the end is yet to be seen but as it stands now, Revenant is the ending book to both the Demonica and the Lords of Deliverance series.
Having a twin brother who is an angel was a shock to Revenant, but finding out he was one too was even more surprising. Raised in hell, tortured at every opportunity and now serving as Satan’s right hand man has never been easy, but it’s his life. It’s all he knows. Until his missing memories are restored and he’s reunited with his righteous brother Reaver. The anger he feels at Reaver’s heavenly upbringing clouds every interaction the two manage to have.
When Satan demands Revenant find someone in the medical field to help the being carrying Lucifer within her womb to be reborn, Revenant goes straight to the sassy Blaspheme. A woman who has been on his radar for quite some time. She reluctantly agrees to help him, if only to find out more about the situation to take back to her boss at Underworld General.
Blaspheme has been hiding what she is for her entire life. As a half breed she’d be hunted down and killed without a thought. Having a fallen angel around will not help her keep her origins under wraps. Her masking spell is quickly wearing off and when it finally dwindles Revenant will surely now what she is. Yet when he asks for her help (or rather demands it) she finds herself agreeing against her better judgement. With every look, every touch, Revenant finds himself conflicted with his growing emotions where Blaspheme is concerned. His deep seeded gray area morals tend to try to be better for her.
These books need to be read in order. I know that’s a tall request seeing as how there are 11 books across both series, but trust me you need the back story. There are a ton of cross characters and I fear a reader not familiar with the extensive world would be lost very quickly. Revenant has some amazing growth throughout the book as he works through his jealousy and guilt. I enjoyed the budding relationship not only with Blaspheme but with his brother as well. At times I actually liked the brothers relationship more than the love aspect but I think that was only because it had been longer in the making. Paranormal romance fans are sure to agree with me on this one…Revenant is wonderfully done, sexy and an excellent ending to a well-loved series!
I give Revenant by Larissa Ione 4.25 stars!
