Out Of The Shadows
Unlike the heroine of her popular thriller series, Georgia Delaune can’t afford to take risks or push sexual boundaries—unless you count spying through her neighbor’s bedroom window, and never missing a single move he makes.
Colby Wilkes is more than willing to put on a show for the alluring woman next door. But his dominant side aches to show her the pleasures of submission up close. As a counselor, Colby is sensitive to Georgia’s fears. As a Dom at The Ranch, a private BDSM retreat, he’s the perfect teacher to unleash her passion. But just as Georgia lowers her emotional barriers, an unexpected complication arrives: a bad boy musician from Colby’s past who adds fuel to her heated imagination. Now, the lonely author has two gorgeous men eager to fulfill every fantasy she’s ever written—and one she’s never dared to dream…
This series is amazing, the emotional intensity of each relationship is compelling and I have a hard time putting these books down. I read this one on a rainy Sunday and enjoyed every minute.
Georgia is in hiding, after a horrific ordeal in her hometown of Chicago she is quietly living in Texas awaiting the time she can tell her tale in court and get back to her old self. She is uncomfortable away from her house and spends most of the time inside, but as a bestselling author it is easy to work from anywhere. Yet there is one aspect of her new life that she enjoys, the view from her bedroom of her neighbor Colby, who seems to forget to close his blinds while entertaining.
Colby is having a hard time lately, his part time job as a school councilor is in jeopardy and he is tired of his weekend training at The Ranch. However there is one bright spot, his neighbor, he knows she looks each night through the window and it has him enjoying his exhibitionist side and giving her a show. When a complication from his past shows up as he is getting to know Georgia, they are all unaware of where their relationship will go.
I love this series, it is so sensual and sexy and Nothing Between Us lived up to everything I was expecting.
Georgia is perfect, she is scared and has occasional panic attacks because of an ex but she is so open and honest about her new feelings as she watches Colby. And when Colby asks Georgia about how she feels she is refreshingly candid to him about her sexuality, enough that she is all for his suggestions, she even enjoys being a bit of an exhibitionist herself when Keats (the complication) is in the other room. And her reaction to Keats and Colby together is priceless.
Colby is sex incarnate with a dominate side. Yet he is the nicest person you could meet, the fact that he enjoys both sexes makes him even more appealing. When he find himself attracted to Keats, someone from his past, he questions himself and makes sure of his feelings as well as Keats, I like how caring he is with him. The chemistry between the three is amazing and very believable, and the scenes sizzle when all three are together as well as when there are just two, Ms. Loren knows how to write a sex scene.
The pace is perfect, we are treated to a love story between three people and I enjoyed the slow buildup of their relationship as they all grow. We did not spend any time at The Ranch in this story and the only time we see others from previous books is at a party, which makes this easy to be read as a standalone. Secondary characters are not as prominent since this centers around these three, but I did like her best friend and I am excited about Pike, who is featured in the next book. The only part that I felt was rushed was when Georgia’s “trouble” finds her, the wrap-up is fast. This is an amazing series and I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys erotic romances with interesting characters and emotional stories that pull you in.
I give Nothing Between Us by Roni Loren 4 stars!
