Excuses excuses

When I decided to blog I never thought it would be this much work. I figured I could write down some of my feelings, maybe throw up the few pages of a sex scene I had written (did you think I would write kiddie books, of course not, sex is more my element) or perhaps do a book review or two.  It hasn’t quite worked out that way yet. Shortly after starting my blog the hubby lost his job. This meant we were spending a lot more time together. While I love my hubby dearly, he totally cramps my evening style. I can’t banish the kids to the playroom tv and cuddle on the couch with a book when he is here. I end up watching tv and having meaningful conversations with him…sheesh. Now he has the new job but right now he is on days, therefore still here in the evenings. For the majority of our marriage he has worked afternoons. Some guys don’t like that, he does. I do too.  My “to be read” pile has continued to grow and now I’m also downloading onto my kindle (thank you Daisy Harris on twitter). I’m only 5 chapters into a new Cynthia Eden book when normally I would blow through it in a day, tops. So, book reviews are out of my realm at the moment.

I can’t very well talk politics on here either for several reasons. Mainly I hate debating. I tend to get defensive and hurt for stupid reasons. I also don’t want hate messages that I have to pick through. The first thing I see in the morning doesn’t need to be a declaration of how I am wrong and they are right. I’ve said in the past that I could care less who you vote for. For the most part I keep my mouth shut unless I am very comfortable with the person. Although privately I hope that someone they want gets voted in and screws up so I can rub it in their face.

I have found the only time I even have a moment to write the blog at all is at the butt ass crack of dawn. My routine lately is to get up with the hubby at 5:15am and do some laundry, clean up the house, fix breakfasts and pack lunches. Then I grab a cup of coffee and hit facebook and farmville (don’t judge me). All the while I’m pondering what to blog about. By 6:15 I’m generally sitting here staring at a blank screen. I start rambling and it turns into this….

If I don’t get the blog done before the kids get up I tend to start blogging about randomness. Really it’s hard to be coherent while refereeing who had the ball first and why one child is giving the other one the “stink eye”. Then, corralling them to clean up and get things together for school that day….*sigh*…it’s a never-ending cycle and race against the clock. I bow down to all those writers out there that can crank out book after book while holding down a house full of craziness. You are my hero.

So blog followers…all 2 of you…give me something to blog about. What do you want to know? How can I make this a better experience for you? What do you want me to do? How can I increase my traffic that doesn’t involve me giving things away since I’m poor and can’t afford it. Suggestions? Tips? Bueller? Bueller?

  1. I LOVE YOUR BLOGS!!! I think the randomness is perfect.. I like them being about nothing in particular – just whatever you are feeling. AWESOME!! I am the same way with my hubby and having time to myself.. I love him DEARLY but I like my “me” time and now that he is out of town I have A LOT of it.. Now am wanting him home. I’m psychotic. LOL

  2. I wanna say throw up the sex scenes. But I know you. I’m afraid that would be weird.

Talk about your writing – how often do you write? Do you have plans to try and be published someday?
