When I found my boyfriend cheating on me, I did something stupid.

Or should I say, someone?

Because of that mistake, I’m now stuck in a world I don’t belong in.

I’m a law student. They’re criminals. He’s the vice president of a motorcycle club. I’m a good girl with a strict upbringing. He’s my ex-boyfriend’s brother.

And I’m screwed.

Dragon’s Lair is book one of Fernando’s MC series and what a wild ride it was! I loved every single thing about this book from beginning to end!

Faye is running. From her life, from her one night stand with a childhood friend, from everything. Pregnant and no where to go, she takes off in search of a better life. Until that one night stand, Dex, shows up to bring her kicking and screaming back to his motorcycle club where he can take care of her. For a fiercely independent law student, the last thing Faye wants is some alpha man telling her what to do.

The motorcycle club world is always one that intrigues me. The band of brothers mentality that these men covet, their code, their women who are never what you see at first glance. I just love it. Dex was the definition of alpha. Being VP to the Wild Dragons MC meant he demanded a higher level of respect and that his brothers would lay down their lives for him. Bringing Faye back to the clubhouse, pregnant, astounded all of them and sent Faye into fit of uneasy rage as she tried to acclimate herself to this new world.

I adored the dynamics within this world. Faye was a law student, well on her way to a degree which would now be put to good use as a helper within the MC. Even though she had a hard time learning when to question things and when to keep her mouth shut. Poor Dex had to put up with a lot of razzing from his brothers as the feisty female kept putting him (and them) in his place. Her mouth got her into a lot of trouble along the way.

Tragedy in such a dangerous world is not unexpected but when it does strike this family, I was impressed by the depth of emotion these men displayed. Though gruff they each have to process the same emotion and with Faye in the household, they become very protective.

Dex and Faye’s evolving relationship was sheer perfection. I liked how they didn’t jump right back into bed and instead worked up to it. Dex didn’t rush her in any way and in fact, they spent a lot of time bickering in that super amusing sort of way. It was a lot for Faye to take in and Dex accommodated her by making her feel like a part of the family, something her own family never gave her.

The colorful cast of other MC members definitely made this even better for me. They were unapologetic of their ways, had no shame and had comebacks that had me rolling in laughter. I hope each and every one gets their own story!

I give Dragon’s Lair by Chantal Fernando 5 stars!
