All her life, Ella Barrow has allowed others to make her decisions. Forced to stifle her artistic talents and stay in a loveless relationship with Clayton Kerrington, the man her mother believes to be her perfect match, Ella’s life may be safe—but it’s not her own. Paxon Nightwing, on the other hand, is anything but the safe choice.

A charming and alluring Morgon, Paxon sees Ella for the woman she truly is. His bold confidence and protective nature ignites a passion she’s never felt before. But a dark family tragedy forces their secrecy—until Clayton makes it impossible to hide their clandestine affair. Will Ella be strong enough to fight for herself at last? Or will she succumb once more and risk losing the only man she’s ever loved?

I just want to start out this review by saying that whoever made the decision not to continue this series has made a huge mistake. Like Julia Roberts on Rodeo Drive big…

big-mistake-oJuliette Cross has got to be one of the most talented authors I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. I’m convinced that she’s inhuman because everything that she pens is stunningly beautiful. I fall in love with each and every story and character each time I pick something of hers up. Her writing washes away reading slumps and just makes me overall happy to be the voracious reader that I am.

In her last installment of the Nightwing series, Cross gives readers the painfully secluded Ella and her Morgon man, Paxon. Always having been under the thumb of her parents, Ella is used to living her safe existence. When her safe boyfriend turns out to be a wolf in sheeps clothing, Elle is left in the arms of the delicious Morgon she’s been eyeing from afar for months. Yet she has held herself back because of the warnings from a mother who had obviously been hurt by one of his kind in the past.

Paxon is painfully aware of Elle and yet he holds himself back from the closeted female. When the opportunity presents itself to bring her into his professional surroundings he jumps on it to give her a chance at something she has secretly longed for. While his normally laidback nature seems to be a facade, Elle calms his inner dragon like no other and he knows he needs to make her his. Forever.

I. Loved. This. Book. Cross has certainly done it again! Paxon was the perfect mix of alpha and gentleman. He was always willing to show Elle how beautiful she was in his eyes, or attack anyone who dared to try and bring her down. His rage was so sexy while he was in the cage fighting for her, whether it was before he actually had her or when he was avenging her honor.

Elle was the perfect virgin flower waiting for the right man (or Morgon in this case) to come along and make her his mate. While I often grimace at virgin heroine storylines, I found Elle to be a character I could both relate to and like. She was just too sweet not to enjoy. I also liked how her personality was in direct juxtaposition to those of her two outrageous (and past heroines) best friends Sorcha and Jessen. She evened out their friendships well and brought them both back to earth when need be.

Nightbloom is a sensual awakening that needs to be experienced. In fact, please read all three of these excellent paranormal romances because I promise you will not regret it. Juliette Cross is an imaginative, inventive and  wonderfully poetic author who I’m eagerly awaiting more from!

I give Nightbloom by Juliette Cross 4.50 stars!
