Being engaged to Alex Waters, team captain and the highest paid NHL player in the league, is awesome. How could it not be?
In addition to being an amazing hockey player, he’s an incurable romantic with an XL heart, and an XXL hockey stick in his pants. And he knows how to use it. Incredibly, orgasmically well. Alex is the whole package and more. Literally. Like his package is insane. Total world record holder material.
So it makes complete sense that Violet Hall can’t wait to nail him down to the matrimonial mattress and become Mrs. Violet Waters.
It’s so romantic.
Violet is totally stoked to set a date.
Eventually. At some point. Likely before the next millennium. Or when Violet stops getting hives every time someone brings up the wedding, and their mothers stop colluding on stadium sized venues. Whichever comes first.
Alex and Violet have become my absolute favorite couple from the Pucked series, the ones that started it all! Alex is the gorgeous hockey player from Canada and Violet is the speak your mind girl from Chicago. They had a one night stand but afterwards, Alex pursued her. Violet was afraid to become a puck bunny and did her best to stay away, which obviously didn’t work. In Pucked you watched them fall in love and now Forever Pucked is the HEA of their relationship. I could not have asked for a better ending to this story!
Alex and Violet are engaged to be married but have put it on the back burner for now. Every time someone mentions the word marriage, Violet breaks out into hives because of what happened at her mother’s wedding. Lucky for Alex, her step brother Miller has the video and once Alex sees for himself, he understands her embarrassment completely. Their mothers are another story. Interfering is their specialty and they make no secret about what they want this wedding to be.
There are some real surprises in this book which I was really not expecting! Violet also comes to realize life is too precious and she is pushing off marrying the man of her dreams for no reason. She finally gives Alex the all clear and I must say it was cute to see the tables turned and the man so enthusiastic about the wedding.
We also get to see more of Charlene, Sunny, Lily, Randy, Miller and Darren again. When the gang all gets together, watch out! Life is pretty interesting with this group, nothing is off limits. Then you throw Violet and Alex’s moms in the mix, total laughable moments!
This was a hilarious, romantic quick read with an emotional twist that I read in one sitting. I would highly suggest reading all the books in the series before starting Forever Pucked. I have to say that I love each book in the series but honestly, this is the best by far. It was the perfect way to end Alex and Violet’s story.
I give Forever Pucked by Helena Hunting 5 stars!
