I think this woman may be the death of me. A dire prediction, but probably true.
Probably true because she’s not mine to have and I’ll probably take her, even at the risk to my own safety. So many men slobbering to get a taste of her and only one, sweet, virginal girl to go around.
She’s a virgin.
Looking like a porcelain china doll that would break if not handled carefully. But I also know she’s stronger than she looks.
She’s a contradiction.
She’s most likely my downfall.
Like I said, she’ll probably be the death of me, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take.
**Warning: this book has sex in it. Lots of sex. Dirty sex. The Wicked Horse Series is a bit different than what Sawyer Bennett normally writes. While you’ll still enjoy fabulous characters, a suspenseful story, some witty banter and an epic romance, there’s just… a lot of sex. You’ve been warned.
I honestly don’t have much to say about Wicked Ride and I’m not sure what that says about the book. On one hand, I found it incredibly sexy due to the fact that our heroine, Auralie was supposedly a virgin and so much of the book is spent finding creative ways not to have actual penetration sex. On the other hand, Auralie is in a sex club being auctioned off against her will by a slimy con artist intent on using her to get the biggest payout. So, that sure puts a damper on the hotness.
Logan is basically down with having sex anytime, anywhere to dull the pain of his past. Though he claims he’s not bisexual he’s totally cool getting it on with a guy from time to time…which I found hilarious. When he sees Auralie there is an instant connection though he knows he’d never have a shot at paying whatever her virginity is auctioning off for, which is kinda slimy but okay, I guess I can get past it because he’s a nice guy, who likes to get his rocks off constantly, and he does eventually save her from her greasy puppet master.
There is a TON of sex, a lot of it dirty dirty sex just as the disclaimer promised. The sex was well wrote, hot and definitely gets the job done. I think my problem is that I never really believed Logan and Auralie as a couple. There was so much sex that I think the relationship building kinda went by the wayside and as a reader we’re supposed to get on board with them as a couple after a few bouts of explosive sex. I need more.
I enjoyed the writing and the world building that was being honed (and had probably continued from the previous books) but I think it lacked in other areas that I wanted more action in. At times I thought it dragged as Logan came to grips with his budding feelings and learned how to be a functioning human instead of just a sex crazed zombie going through the motions of life. All in all, Wicked Ride was okay, but I definitely saw the potential for more.
I give Wicked Ride by Sawyer Bennett 3 stars!
