Rake is known for being up for anything, in and out of the bedroom. He’s wild, he’s deadly, yet quick with a joke or a stolen kiss. Known as the player of the WDMC, he loves women, the more the merrier. However, behind his womanizing façade, Rake hides the pain of losing his first love, Bailey. He hasn’t loved anyone since, and doesn’t think he ever will.
Seven years after their split, Rake and Bailey run into each other at the MC’s favorite club. Old wounds resurface, secrets are spilled…and passionate feelings are awakened. But they’ve each done things to hurt the other, hurt them too badly to get over it—haven’t they? Only when Bailey’s connection to Rake puts her in danger from another Club member does he realize that there’s nothing he won’t do to protect her—and claim her as his once again.
I do love me some Chantel Fernando and Rake’s Redemption is definitely a page turning, gut wrenching, sheer perfection novel. I loved everything about it, even the ugly parts and had me sobbing onto my ipad.
Rake buries himself in women, literally. I mean a lot of women. Multiples of women at once even. He’s the clubhouse playboy and he’s not ashamed to admit it. He answers to no one and his loyalty to the club is absolute. When he runs into the one woman from his past who he wants desperately to forget, he knows it’s going to be a shit night. Bailey isn’t exactly what his teenage heart remembers, she’s far better. Except now she has a daughter and responsibilities and she really doesn’t want anything to do with him either. Yet she keeps turning up everywhere he goes. Getting involved with her again is the worst idea he’s ever had…and also the most useless, because every encounter with her leaves him wanting more.
There are secrets that Bailey keeps that Rake can never find out. It would tear him apart and that’s the last thing she wants to do to the only man she’s ever loved. When he left it nearly broke her but now she’s older, wiser and a mom who just needs to provide for her daughter. The daughter who should have been Rake’s once upon a time. Secrets have a way of being uncovered and Rake is about to learn that the past isn’t what he remembers it to be.
Chantel creates a world that is easily believed. Her characters are lush and well rounded. The women are those you want to be friends with and the men you want in your bed each night. The sex scenes never disappoint and the story lines very rarely limp along. Rake’s Redemption sucked me in and had me crying, laughing and sighing with contentment.
I give Rake’s Redemption by Chantel Fernando 4 stars!
