Hockey star Nolan Solvenson is nothing short of skilled perfection, both on and off the ice. Or so everyone thinks. His teammates are constantly hitting him up for advice, but really, when it comes to his own life, Nolan can’t seem to make the right moves anymore.

Blame it all on Lainey Shelburne, a woman he wants but is determined to keep at arm’s length. That’s why, after a few sexy encounters, he unceremoniously blows her off.

When they’re reunited, facing off against the fiery cocktail waitress becomes the challenge of his life. Lainey is furious with him for dumping her and wants nothing more than to kick him in the junk. But Nolan–typical man–is only interested in getting Lainey back in his bed.

That plan is shot all to hell when they reach a shaky truce and Lainey drops the bomb that all she’s looking for now is a “just friends” relationship with Nolan.

Take that, Mr. Hot Right Winger!

Suddenly, the “know-it-all” athlete is skating on thin ice as he tries to hide his burgeoning feelings from the one woman who has the ability to thaw his heart. But is Lainey willing to try a relationship with him again? Can Nolan resist the urge to walk away?

Resistance on Ice by S.R. Grey, a sports romance, had me laughing out loud. It was a fun and easy read. The characters were enjoyable and the story flowed well.

All Nolan Solvenson wants is Lainey Shelburne, but he messed up. Big time. Nolan is known for being a player, both on and off the ice. Then Lainey entered his life. They hit it off immediately and their chemistry was hot and steamy. But as Lainey gets closer, Nolan pushes her away, until he finally pushes her completely away.

I liked Nolan. He was lovable, but also very frustrating. A secret from his past haunts his future and stops him from going after what he wants. Because of this, he wants to stay away from forming any type of relationship outside of just sex. But Lainey is ready for more.

Lainey knows who Nolan is. Knows his history, but after spending time with him and their very steamy sexual encounters, she is ready for more. She knows they are good together. But as soon as the words are out she knows Nolan is having none of it. So, when he pushes her away, she walks away from him for good. His loss.

Lainey knew there were things Nolan was keeping from her. Knew it affected his choices, even if he was afraid to admit it. But she knew what she wanted and if he could not give it to her, then so be it. I loved how was strong and determined she was. Even when all she wanted was to fall into his arms.

Nolan knew he wanted Lainey. She made him feels things he never felt before. But it also scared him. So when Lainey decides all they can be is friends, he realizes he has no choice but to follow her lead. But when two people have the intense connection and chemistry these two have, it is not always easy. And so they embark on a journey that may end up leading them on separate paths. Can they realize what they really mean to each other in time?

I enjoyed Resistance on Ice. I loved the interaction between Nolan and Lainey. I loved their inner-interaction with themselves. And I especially loved the interactions between the teammates. A good story that will make you laugh and frustrate you just a little bit.

I give Resistance on Ice by SR Grey 4 stars!
