I lived in the dark for three years. My whole world revolved around the whims and happiness of three men. It was just a trip into the forbidden. A way out of a bad situation and forward into nothingness. Quin, with his easy smile and charming good looks. He was always there for me… Until he wasn’t. Smith, and his dispassionate attention. He was never there for me and he never regretted it. Bric, the one who listened, but only to himself. Self-absorbed, self-obsessed, and self-serving. He was never the one I wanted. And now he might be the only one I have left. It was good while it lasted, I guess. But it could’ve been so much more. It could’ve been so much better. And that’s why I’m turning back.

Turning Back is book 2 in the Turning series by JA Huss. We knew who Rochelle was from Taking Turns, but not why she left. And now she is back. Why did she leave? And more importantly, why is she back now? I have said it before and I will say it again, JA Huss has a brilliantly wicked mind. Her stories are full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Now we meet Rochelle. We get to know why she left. We also get to know more about all the men. But can they trust Rochelle now? She left without any explanations or goodbyes. They want her and she may want them back. But what will be the new dynamics now that things are different?

Because though she is back, things are different now. It is only three of them now. How will that affect their new normal? And what happens when feelings are finally admitted that may leave one of them on the outside looking in?

I truly am a big fan of all of JA Huss stories. She is an amazing storyteller that weaves intricate stories that will intrigue readers from start to finish. And when you think you have it all figured out, she throws in a twist that changes everything.

This story is so full of suspense and mystery. The chemistry is off the charts. The interactions and banter between all the characters will pull you right in. There is so much going on, but you never feel loss. But you do need to read Taking Turns first. It is a series, but it is so worth it!

I love how JA Huss gives us such taboo stories that consume us. And while this story is full of wonderful, kinky sexual interactions between the characters, there is so much more underneath that. The characters are not perfect, but are captivating in their own flawed way. Another amazing series from this author and I cannot wait to see what comes next.

Turning Back by JA Huss was a 5-star read for me!
