When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.
Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.
Boy, was I wrong.
Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.
Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.
But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.
Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.
Meghan Quinn is someone I’ve never read before. I’ve got a few books on my kindle but haven’t had the chance to buckle down and read them. However, when My Best Friend’s Ex showed up on my kindle, I decided to dive right in.
To me this book just screamed “girl code” and I knew from the start it was going to be broken. But what a way to break it…
Emma and Tucker have known each other for a long time, since high school. Tucker dated Emma’s best friend, Sadie, and they were inseparable. They loved hard and fought hard as well. Sadie ended up pregnant and Tucker did what he thought was right…bought the house with the white picket fence in hopes of the perfect family. However, Sadie lost the baby and all of their dreams fell apart.
A few years later, Tucker has still not moved on. He is still in the same house, barely living, when he sees his friend Emma at a local bar. As luck would have it, Emma is looking for a place to stay after being evicted and Tucker offers her a room in his home. I mean, they are just friends, right??
From the moment Emma moves in, the banter between her and Tucker is friendly and yet flirty. He pushes her to work hard and play harder. He goes out of his way to make her comfortable in her home, cooking, spending time with her, buying furniture and making it a home, something he never did after Sadie left him.
Throughout the book, there is the sexual tension that is incredible. I was holding my breath just waiting to see if Tucker and Emma would surrender to their desires. The joking between the two, the things that just coming pouring out of Emma’s mouth and Tucker’s sometimes hot/cold attitude towards Emma leads to some mind-blowing scenes.
“He’s been preparing all his life to be the best at everything he does, and you, my beautiful friend, will be the one who benefits from the hard knocks he’s experienced. He will give you his soul, his heart, his love.”
Emma and Tucker’s story is fabulous. With the addition of some amazing friends and co-workers, this tale of friends to lovers is remarkable. My Best Friend’s Ex has plenty of fun, sexiness, drama and a whole lot of love. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more of Ms. Quinn.
I give My Best Friend’s Ex by Meghan Quinn 4.5 stars!
