He was all she ever wanted. Then she broke his heart…
As longtime manager of Dirty, the hottest rock band on the planet, gorgeous and brooding Brody Mason has had his share of beautiful women. Yet the only one he’s ever wanted is the one he never had—the one who tore his heart out.
Beautiful and elusive Jessa Mayes appears to have it all. Talent, money, and a glamorous life. But she also has a secret. Six years ago, she ran away—from her dream career as a songwriter with Dirty, and the only man she’s ever loved—without telling anyone why.
Now Jessa’s doing the one thing she swore she’d never do. She’s coming home—to be a bridesmaid in her brother’s rock star wedding… and face the mistakes of her past.
It won’t be easy.
Love this intense never is.
Dirty Like Brody is the second full length book in the Dirty series by Jaine Diamond. These are interconnected standalone books which can be read on its own, however the first book in the series is very good and worth the read.
Dirty Like Brody is Brody Mason and Jessa Mayes’ story. Brody manages the band Dirty and is very dedicated to his job. Brody grew up with some of the band members, which includes Jessa’s brother. When she walked away six years ago, she broke his heart. Never at a loss for beautiful women in his bed, the one that matters the most is unavailable to him.
Jessa Mayes walked away from everything and everyone and has not been back. But her brother is getting married and she needs to be at the wedding. The last thing she wants is to confront the past she walked away from. No one knows why she left or why she stayed away so long. But now she has no choice but to face that past head on.
Jessa was so sad and lost. She blocked out anyone that meant anything to her for so long, she does not know how to let them back in. Though she had real talent in music, she is now a successful model.
I loved Brody. We can feel what he is going through and how Jessa’s treatment of him affects him deeply. He does not know what drove her away, but he knows this time around he needs to protect his heart.
I loved not only getting both point of views, but also their history of how they ended up where they are today. They truly struggled to overcome all the secrets and tension between them. Could Brody ever give her a chance again? Why did she was walk away and stay away for so long?
This was a good rock star/band second chance at love story. They had so much chemistry, but also so many obstacles to overcome. I loved Brody and Jessa, the interactions between the band members and how the story flowed.
I give Dirty Like Brody by Jaine Diamond 4-stars!
