Half-human and half-wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful-and passionate-of the Elder races.

Wow. Just wow. Where do I begin? Thea Harrison has the beginning of something magical here. Something that will pull you from any reading slump. Something that will make your heart race and pound in your chest. Something that will make you feel alive. Thea has artfully created a world that will draw you in and make you believe. Dragon Bound was one of the best books I have read in a long time! Yes, I am stating that right here and now. I loved it. I loved it with the brilliant shining of a million stars.

Pia Giovanni is a half breed Wyr. Not quite shape shifter, not quite human. Longing to fit in somewhere. She knows stealing from the famously scary Dragos isn’t the smart thing to do but being blackmailed wasn’t what she had in mind for her life either.

Being the largest, most powerful Wyr is something Dragos is accustomed too. Having a back talking, sexy female is not. He isn’t sure what to do with his feisty thief but he sure isn’t letting go until he figures all her secrets out. Secrets Pia has sworn never to reveal to anyone again.

Dragon Bound had an awesome heroine that kicked butt and then enjoyed some Twizzlers and a slurpy. Pia wasn’t afraid to speak her mind or put Dragos in his place when he stepped on her toes. I loved her human mentality coupled with her magical abilities. Of course Dragos, being a uber scary dragon shifter that was centuries old, didn’t know quite what to make of Pia. His experiencing of new emotions was sweet and definitely made this a page turner. His protectiveness was fierce and we all know about me and alphas. Do I need to say how much I love alphas again? No? HA. It was well thought out and paced with just enough action and just enough set your sheets on fire sex. Believe me, Thea can write some steamy scenes. The world building is superb and gives you a mix of classic and unique paranormal elements.

The mix of characters helped make the book what it is. You get to meet a whole host of yummy magical shifter men with egos and attitudes big enough to rival that of Greek God’s. Shoot some of the God’s might even be modeled after the men. There are also a couple of women we meet as well that have snappy comebacks at the ready for these alpha men. The combination is electric. Certainly helped move the story along to see everyone’s interactions with each other and Pia, the new girl to their group.

The next book, Storm’s Heart, will follow Tricks as she steps into her role as a queen. Tiago who is the male lead is definitely drool worthy from his short appearance in Dragon Bound. He is a strong silent type and has a Native American eagle shifter able to throw thunder and lightening…ummm yeah…yum. Storm’s Heart  is due out August 2nd.

I give Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison 5 stars!
