Interview with Lucy Monroe and GIVEAWAY

Happy Monday everyone! Today I have a special treat! Today I have the fabulous Lucy Monroe chatting with us and a awesome giveaway at the end! Lucy was one of the very first authors I started talking to online way back when. She writes awesome romance novels that will both enthrall and excite readers!

Lucy! Welcome! Come on in and relax a bit. I’ve got cookies…and wine. 🙂 What? They do so go together. At my house anyway. So let’s start with a nice easy question….

Tell us a bit about yourself.

Happy to……. 🙂

OOOHHH, You tease! You have been writing for a long time, when was the first time you realized you wanted to be an author?

Well, I’ve been telling stories in my head since I was 3 years old, but I didn’t realize I wanted to write them down until I was having a conversation with God in the bathtub when I was about 25.

Do you have an author that influenced the way in which you write today?

I have a whole list of them.  Really.  I even blogged about it.  You can see the whole list here:

http://lucymonroeblog.blogspot.com/2010/03/lucys-mvp-wall.html
Quite an impressive list! You write in several sub classes of romance. Any plans to write in more?

Wow…not a lot of people ask that because I do write in so many subgenres, but the answer is a very strong maybe.  I’ve got an idea for a Steampunk series that is really cool, but no time as yet to write it. 🙂
Oh steampunk is uber cool right now. I need to read some of those, I haven’t gotten around to it yet. What are you currently working on?

My next Children of the Moon book.  The hero is a dragon shifter and between his secrets and the heroine’s they’ll both be lucky to survive the book with their hearts intact.  Though if they did, that wouldn’t be a lot of fun, would it?
Dragon shifters are so yummy! Can’t wait! What would you say is your favorite type of shifter?

Right now…it’s dragons. LOL  But my first love was wolves – not big scary, three form wolves – just classic shifters that became wolves on a full moon.  Now, I love reading about them all. 🙂
Ok a tough one….alpha shifter or hard mercenary….pick one. 🙂

Oh, my gosh…wouldn’t it be cool if they were both?  Maybe some day. LOL
That would be cool..ok write it NOW lol!  Any advice for aspiring authors out there?

Absolutely.  Never give up.  Never, ever let someone else’s view of your work convince you that you can’t write.  If it’s in your heart to do, you must do it – even if the only reader that ever sees your words is your mom.  Better even when you keep courage and keep submitting no matter how many rejections.  I got a bucket full for 9 years (5 of them seriously pursuing my writing) but could not give up.

THANK YOU so much for stopping by today Lucy! I truly do appreciate you taking the time to do so! And for you readers out there Lucy has a awesome giveaway opportunity for one of you! The lucky winner will receive a copy of:

Sometimes you have to go beyond the call of duty. . .

Bodyguards In Bed

There’s just one cardinal rule when it comes to being a bodyguard: no matter how tempting it may be, never, ever get romantically involved with the person you’re protecting. But as these sensual novellas prove, even the most important rules are made to be broken—again and again and again. Join acclaimed authors Lucy Monroe, Jamie Denton, and Elisabeth Naughton as they open the files on an undercover operative who finds a sexy surprise under his covers, a hot case involving mixed messages and mistaken identities, and a mission impossible protecting a provocative beauty who lives to love dangerously

Yeah, it’s a hard job, but someone’s gotta do it.

AND

Mission: Irresistible

Super spy Mykola Chernichenko comes from a family of geniuses, and though he’s no idiot himself, he’d rather be where the action is than analyze it to death. That’s why his vacation has just been cut short by a call to get two of his siblings out of some serious trouble—while protecting a nerdy scientist who’s latest project could change the world…and get her killed.

The guy who’d rather act than think guarding an egghead in a lab coat? Myk would appreciate the irony more if he weren’t so busy trying to figure out how, exactly, to get under said lab coat. Because Lana Ericson just happens to be the hottest thing working the scientific method since, well, ever. Myk has a feeling Lana’s laser-like focus would translate to something equally intense in the bedroom. And if she’s as curious about him, Myk might just be willing to donate his body to science—each and every night…

  1. I love Lucy’s books, but have sadly fallen behind in me reading. The first book of Lucy’s I read was Deal With Me… and I devoured her Mercenary trilogy. I just put this anthology on my wish list, it sounds awesome.
