Ardeur Playlist and GIVEAWAY

Hey everyone! It’s Brody and Ardeur. Danielle’s been called away so she gave us free reign to blog for her today. Since the boss is away, we thought it might be fun to give you guys a glimpse into the playlist she listened to while writing Ardeur.
Ardeur: Luckily, Danielle and I like a lot of the same music. Well, mostly. She likes Katy Perry and Britney Spears. *shudders* Yeah, not my style. Give me some Nickelback and I’m a happy girl.
Brody: Yes, you are, Goldie. *laughs* And, I think the kids love it now, too. You sang it to them enough while you were pregnant… they should be huge fans by now.
Ardeur: Shut it. *grins and blows him a kiss* Anyway, wanna get to it?
Brody: Go for it. Show ‘em.
Ardeur: First up, Anthem of the Angels by Breaking Benjamin. This is one of the songs Brody likes and, honestly, it suits us perfectly. The lyrics: White walls surround us/No light will touch your face again/Rain taps the window/As we sleep among the dead/Days go on forever/But I have not left your side/We can chase the dark together/If you go then so will I…
Supermassive Black Hole by Muse. No reason, Danielle and I just loved the song. *laughs* It was easy to work to and we both enjoyed grooving to it.

Next, and you knew it was coming at some point… Nickelback. There were a few songs by them on the playlist, for obvious reasons. I’d Come For You, Flat On The Floor, Never Again, All The Right Reasons (This one played while Danielle wrote the scene where Brody proposed. It fit the feel of the scene perfectly.), and Saving Me.
Brody: All great songs, Goldie. Of course, we have to include AC/DC’s Thunderstruck and Hell’s Bells on my list. Other tracks I’d add: Beautiful You by Saving Abel, Fake It by Seether, Bad Girlfriend by Theory of a Deadman, Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace and Faraway Vol. 2 by Apocalyptica.
Ardeur: We can’t forget to add in the songs Danielle likes. We’ve gotten most of them between the two of us but, there’s a few that have been left out. As much as she loves Nickelback, Danielle’s list is actually heavy with Breaking Benjamin.
I Will Not Bow, Evil Angel, What Lies Beneath, Blow Me Away… *laughs* Pretty much anything by them. She loves Breaking Benjamin. A LOT.

What are your favorite songs to write, ready or do whatever to? Got something you think we’d like? Leave us a comment and we’ll give it a shot.

  3. I lurve Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga & some old school guys like Meatloaf! Great post and awesome giveaway. To be honest I don’t listen to music when reading – I completely ‘switch off’, the world can go by and I won’t even know about it lol 🙂

  4. That was a cute character interview! And thanks for all of the song rec’s… gotta check’em out! I don’t really listen to any music while reading… I’ve heard it can help get into scenes, but I just read in the quiet space of bedroom. When not reading I listen to most anything from Britney Spears to KORN.

  5. It depends on my mood at the time. I always try to find music that suits how I feel. When cleaning house I like to listen to older country music or 80s rock. If I am feeling a little nostalgic I will probably choose 80s country. Since I like most types of music there is always something that will fit my mood available.

  9. I like any songs and it depends on my mood. Usually soft rock and 80 and 90s music are great for anything. Backstreet Boys, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Linkin Park, Whitney Houston are on top of my repeat songs.

  10. Goodness! I couldn’t listen to music & work at the same time. I get too distracted & just want to sing along. My taste in music is pretty eclectic. I just listen to whatever happens to be playing on the radio. As long as it’s not rap.

  11. Linda – I do sing along, even wiggle in my chair as I write.

Na – I have a few songs by those artists but save them for when I’m house cleaning and stuff.

Kirsten – One my favorite country/rock right now is the duet by Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson. Love that song.

  12. Danielle,

I love music, but when I’m working I only listen to instrumental. The words are too distracting. Now, when I’m exercising, I love Maroon 5 , Bruno Mars, Adell. NIckelback…and lots of rock!

Ardeur sounds fantastic. I can’t wait to read more about Ardeur and Brody! Thanks so much for offering a giveaway!!!
