When Lacey loses control of her vehicle and finds herself trapped by ice and snow, she knows there’s only one person to call for help. Unfortunately, Michael may cause more turmoil than relief. She’s lusted for the gorgeous Dom ever since she first laid eyes on him. Trouble is, he doesn’t do vanilla and she’s not a submissive…or is she?
Michael’s hungered for Lacey for months, so when he notices her fleeting glimpses and blush-stained cheeks as he rescues her from an altercation with a guardrail, he decides it’s time to push the sultry beauty’s boundaries…only to discover Lacey’s not as reserved as she thinks.
Physical attraction blossoms into something neither anticipates, taking Michael and Lacey beyond kink, dominance, and submission. Their newfound connection is strong until a flame from Michael’s past returns, shatters the fragile trust he and Lacey have only just developed and threatens to destroy something neither wants to surrender.
Lacey has had her eye on the hunky local tow truck driver for quite some time. Learning he was a Dom only secretly interested her more. Learning she was a sub shocked her completely. After finding herself in a ditch on the side of the road she calls the only person she knows can get her out, Mike. When he offers a trip back to his house she certainly can’t refuse. Everything about Mike turns her on. Even his play room in the basement.
Mike knows he wants Lacey but isn’t sure she is ready to commit to his strict lifestyle. He’s more then willing to figure out…slowly. She needs to learn to let go and hand over the control and Mike is just the man to teach her.
My my my…Make Me Shiver was one hot book. I labeled it as a BDSM but not to worry for those not into that scene because it wasn’t overly done. Since Lacey is new to the lifestyle he takes it easy on her the majority of the book, though that’s not to say he doesn’t push her boundaries. He certainly does. I liked the central theme in this book which I found to be – look at yourself before you look at others. By that I mean that Lacey was constantly projecting her insecurities onto other people. We’ve all been there. Jumping to conclusions about something when your significant other has given you no reason to suspect them of any wrong doings. Since you think that way obviously they do too right? I loved how Lacey finally owns up to her insecurities by letting Mike have complete control and no longer questioning his every move and just letting him take the lead. The journey for her to get to this point though was filled with scorching moments and boundary shaking situations.
Mike is made of wow. I’m not normally for longer hair on guys but Mike’s blonde locks had me panting for more. Or maybe it was his steadfast approach to Lacey and wanting her to enjoy his BDSM lifestyle as he did. I loved how he was loyal to his friends even at the expense of Laceys anger. He obviously is a great friend and regardless or the situation he will jump in for those he cares about.
There is a next book set-up in Make Me Shiver that will involve a three-way type situation. I’m looking forward to it even though I’m not sure how I will feel. The heroine is introduced in this one and I just dont know how I feel about her. She takes submissive to a whole new level. One I don’t like. I have faith that Aline will bring me around though with her writing skills. Make Me Shiver does exactly as it implies, this one will have you quivering in no time, and not from being cold!
I give Make Me Shiver by Aline Hunter 4.25 stars!
