Just as un-life seems to be stabilizing for Jane Jameson, fate returns to sink its fangs and wreak havoc. Despite Jane’s almost-phobic approach to the process, wedding planning is going smoothly. But then Jane happens upon her former babysitting charge, Jamie Lanier, injured and dying outside of a bookstore. When Jamie asks her to turn him, she reluctantly does so and takes Jamie in at River Oaks at the Council’s insistence.

Jane’s life is further complicated when Grandma Ruthie dies, only to return to haunt River Oaks. Outside the old house lurks an even more sinister presence. As the faceless threat draws closer, Jane begins to wonder whether she will ever make it down the aisle. Will their friends accept Jamie—the newest, somewhat annoying, addition to their little family? Will Jane ever feel like a nice girl again?

.

Jane just wants to finally marry Gabriel. True to form, things keep getting in the way. Now that things have finally settled down and she has finally said yes, nothing can go wrong. Until she is suddenly responsible for a fledgling vampire and a blast from the past shows up trying to kill Gabriel. You know. Normal stuff. Even Grandma Ruthie can’t seem to leave her alone. Trying to destroy her wedding before it even happens from the grave.

Along with her incredibly close band of friends, they set out to figure out the mystery of who is behind the recent attacks. Because of the guy can’t get to Gabriel, he’ll get to the next best thing….Jane.

Molly Harper has a fan in me! Nice Girls Don’t Bite Their Neighbors is the fourth in her Jane Jameson series and it was the first one I have read by her. I found Jane is be an incredibly complex, snarky and deliciously fun character! I just loved her! The entire book had me snorting and laughing so hard I damn near peed my pants! Poor Jane has apparently gotten into some pretty hairy situations in the past books that resulted in her changing from a lonely and boring librarian into a vampire with a smoking hot boyfriend, Gabriel.

Jane’s bitter grandmother, Ruthie, has just passed and is now haunting Jane’s gorgeous River Oakes estate. Ruthie spends a good deal of time taunting and threatening Jane throughout the book and Jane spends a good deal of time trying to exorcise her from the premises. Along with her meddling mother and rag tag group of formally human friends, and a werewolf, Jane is trying to plan her wedding in a hurry. Not to mention the boy she used to babysit that she watched get mowed down by a car and she had to turn him. Instant family, just add water. Baby vampires often need to be nurtured like normal children, regardless of their age when they were turned. Now Jane has to have Jamie under her roof which means no alone sexy time with Gabriel.

The entire book was one shenanigan after the next sprinkled with awesome dialogue and a story line that kept me interested and reading the entire way. Though there isn’t much sex, the emotion between Jane and Gabriel sparked whenever they were around each other. Jane seemed to harbor strong emotions for each and every friend and wasn’t afraid to lay it all on the line in order to protect those she loved. Having not read the rest of the series was not a problem in the least. The back story is simply stated and I was never left feeling confused about any of the past events or relationships.

The suspenseful aspects of the story were well played and they happened enough that I didn’t get bored. I was even thrown off course a few times and was surprised by the turn of events.

If you’re looking for a fluffy read that will keep you laughing the entire length of the book then Molly Harper is your author! Combining suspense, romance and hilarious situations, Molly Harper has a niche in this genre! Definitely a fresh take on the paranormal romance field, and a winner in my book!

I give Nice Girls Don’t Bite Their Neighbors by Molly Harper 4 stars!
