Ricky Lee has no plans of getting serious about anyone, but he will protect Toni Jean-Louis Parker. Not just because he’s been hired to do so, but because it’s the right thing to do. And if that means traveling around the country with one complicated She-jackal, dealing with chocolate-eating wild dogs, instigating trouble between his brothers, and having the most amazing sex he’s ever had…well, who said his job didn’t have perks?

Toni doesn’t know how she keeps getting herself into these situations. But even she has to admit there’s something about Ricky Lee Reed that she finds kind of interesting…and downright sexy. Now they just have to survive long enough to figure out if what they have is worth fighting for…

Yay! A new Shelly Laurenston book! *Bouncing happily around the room* Laurenston never fails to lift my spirits on cloudy days! Wolf With Benefits finds Laurenston back in New York with her quirky characters and hilarious families.

As one of the three Lee brothers, Ricky is known as the most normal one. Working with his brothers in security allows him to be comfortable and yet gives him the freedom to do as he’d like most of the time. What he’d like to do is looking more and more like the cute jackal with the riot of curly hair. Having no intentions of having anything but a little fling Ricky sets his sights on the woman who comes with more baggage then he’s ever seen but who has a draw like no other.

Being part of a jackal family means that family always comes first. No exceptions. being part of a family of prodigies makes things even harder. Especially when you’re nothing special and everyone else is. Toni is the schedule maker, the baby sitter and the referee. Something is missing for her though…and that something is a life. When a family friend offers her a position tailor made for her Toni can’t say no. Trying to schedule her own life seems to be the biggest problem she’s ever had.

I always enjoy a Laurenston book! She has fun, vivid characters that have such huge personalities. I absolutely love the dialog in her books. Toni and Ricky and no exception. Ricky’s laid back southern charm and Toni’s uptight nature worked so well off each other. Though to be honest I never really felt the heat I think other books have had. This was more a slow and steady romance. I could totally be wrong but I swear there used to be more sex in her books then there is now. Wolf With Benefits focuses more on Toni’s fight to be independent then with a budding relationship with Ricky. They fall into an easy routine fairly quickly but nothing really happens in the romance department for quite some time.

The best thing about this book was the secondary characters. Toni’s family is so over the top it’s funny and I found myself chuckling and gawking at the same time while reading their interactions. For as much sniping as they do at one another, you can truly feel the love they have when they have to pull together as a unit. I enjoyed immensely that even Bo and Blayne had trouble getting them to work together on scheduling and that man can be simply terrifying. As always, nearly every other past character finds a way to either show up or be talked about and some new characters fanaggle their way into your heart. Livy, Toni’s best friend is simply awesome as a honey badger shifter. Another cool thing about Laurenston….her never ending list of super cool shifters. LOVE. THEM.

Lovers of Shelly Laurenston are sure to continue their adoration with the release of this book! Wolf With Benefits is a solid, easy read that will have readers wanting to sprout some fur and grow a tail!

I give Wolf With Benefits by Shelly Laurenston 4 stars!
